Protein G Agarose 6FF is an affinity chromatography medium designed for easy, one-step purification of most mammallian immunoglobulins, notably mouse IgG isotypes, as well as Fc region-containing fusion proteins.
Protein G is derived from Streptococcus strain G148. It contains binding sites for the Fc portion of mammalian IgG. Native protein G has 3 IgG binding domains as well as the sites for albumin and cell-surface binding. Our recombinant protein G contains only the IgG binding domains but no albumin recognition region, therefore, it is compatible with purification protocols that require the presence of fetal bovine serum (FBS) or serum albumin proteins.
Showing super binding specificity for IgG species, Protein G Agarose 6FF enables single-step purification of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies with a greater than 95% purity, and is well suited for IgG purification from various sources, including crude samples of tissue cultures and sera. With rigid, highly cross-linked matrix support, this product is versatile and well chemical-tolerant. It is readily adaptable to protocols of various formats over a broad range of chemical conditions.
