QuickBlock™ 10 minute Protein-Free Blocking Buffer does not contain protein, it is a proprietary formation of non-protein agents that eliminates non-specific binding sites in western blotting. The absence of protein from the Protein-Free Blocking Buffer eliminates problems associated with traditional protein-based blockers, such as cross-reactivity and interference from glycosylated proteins.
QuickBlock™ 10-Minute Protein-Free Blocking Buffer
Catalog number :IF9136
- Overview
- Description
- QuickBlock™ 10 minute protein free blocking buffer, which is an efficient and fast blocking buffer. It is used in the blocking stage of Western Blot, and also in the dilution of antibodies (primary antibody and secondary antibody) in the Western Blot process. Pure chemical formula without protein can effectively prevent protein cross reaction and effectively improve the signal to noise ratio of the detected signal in a short time.Furthermore, Protein-Free Blocking Buffer is compatible with antibodies and avidin/biotin based systems and results in high signal to background ratios.
- Tested applications
- Blocking of membrane (PVDF or NC) after transferring of proteins in western blot

2. Pure chemical formula, no protein, diluted antibody can prolong the storage time, increase the number of antibody reuse, and greatly improve the utilization rate of antibody
- Protocols
- 1. After the membrane transfer, wash the membrane with TBST.2. According to the size of the membrane, pour a certain volume of QuickBlock™ into the container to ensure that the liquid can fully submerge the membrane.3. Clamp one corner of the membrane with tweezers, place the membrane in QuickBlock™ solution, make the solution completely immerse the membrane, and place it on a horizontal shaking table at room temperature for about 10 minutes.4. The blocked membrane can be used for subsequent experiments such as the incubation of the first antibody (the incubation effect is better if the antibody is diluted with QuickBlock™).Attention:1. It is not recommended to reuse this product, because with the increase of the number of reuses, the effective ingredients will be reduced due to the transfer to the membrane, and repeated use may lead to the failure to ensure the blocking effect. Please repeat the use of this product according to the facts within a reasonable range use.2. When the product is received, foam may appear on the surface of the liquid (caused by shaking during transportation), which can be used normally after the foam dissipates.
